    P2P software

    Hello there you helpful warriors....

I have recently downloaded an MP3 bittorrent or two and have found that when I play it back, that the music is scrambelled i.e. you get around 10 seconds of each tune in no apparent order. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't believe that the files are corrupt as it has happened on a few occasions.

    Thanks Simon.

Im assuming that you have downloaded a complete album.
First of all try playing just one tune using your defualt media player, then try playing the same song on a different media player.

Did you definately get the whole complete file?? Remember that BT doesnt give you the file from start through to the finish - it breaks the complete file into 'pieces' and then you download the pieces in a (sort of) random order.
If you were executing a pls or m3u file, and it pointed at files that were incomplete, you would in theory get a mish-mash of songs.

If this is happening all the time, and you have made the checks i mentioned, then your torrent client maybe up the spout.

Thanks. The album appears as one complete file and thus I cannot play each one separately. I did receive the complete download as I received the message 'download complete' This has only happened with 3 downloads. I have successfully downloaded a number of other files.

Another question, does anybody know how I play/burn to disc .ogg files and .wv files?

    Regards Simon.

i think i understand what you mean. you have downloaded three albums from 3 separate torrents. the album file consists of one 70-80 minute MP3 (or other format). when you play this one file back, you get small bits of the entire track playing separately?? this would make more sense that the file data has been assembled incorrectly. if you have downloaded successful other files using the same client, then that is very puzzling :-/ were the three downloads form the same user??

as for ogg, go here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ get the free player and the ogg codec. you should be able to get a .wv codec from the site as well.

I believe you need a file conversion program such as CDex, or many others....... Rippers like CDex & others will convert your files, enabling you to burn to a disc or create an image for latter burning. Check under FreeWare, CD Rippers on your favorite search engine. I used Google and found many. Good Luck.......
