Hi everyone

I am having trouble with word 2003 application. When I start a new word document or try and open an old document I get an error message saying word has to be shut down and would I like to save my work.

I can go into the registry and delete the data registry for office 11 and then word works fine until I restart my computer. I am running XP professional as an operating system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know if you're logged on as an administrator or power user? Is this your home PC or is it on a company network?

Is there any other information in the error message? Sometimes there's a 'Details' button which you can expand to give a more technical message. As much detail as possible for the error would be useful.

The problem is on a home laptop to which I am logged on as the administrator.
