I wanted to get back to you and let you know that I think I found the problem. I'm no expert, but this is what I did. I noticed that in the "connections" area of "Internet options" it was checked to always dial up a connection. Since I have cable, I checked "never dial a connection." This seemed to do it. I'm curious though as to how this wasn't already checked. Anyhow, thanks for your help. You led me to the right place!!!
