    Telephone dialing software

    Hi, I've downloaded this software

    http://www.kassistechnologies.com/prod_rd.html

I didn't get to try it out before the trial period ran out. I've searched for a freeware alternative but to no avail, even something similar that did have a fully functioning trial period is hard to find.

Is anyone aware of anything like the above? A program that will phone a number untill it becomes free and alerts the user?

You see on Sunday, Glastonbury tickets go on sale and I don't fancy hitting redial all day like I did last year and still not get them. If the above is a no go.....
Can I easily make a phone call using my computer using either a broadband conection with extrenal modem or internal dial up connection?, (something I'm missing in xp perhaps?)
If so can it be done with a mic and ear/headphones?
    My computer specs are here:

So I have an internal 56k modem and a Bt Voyager broadband usb modem, microfilters, line spliter etc.

I know my intentions are purely selfish but it would come in handy for making normal phone calls while sat at my pc!
Any sugestions or solutions would be great Thanks

Nevermind I've got tickets via the website somehow!

But I still would like to see if theres any way to 'control' your phone using a computer. I dont mean voip I mean the phone connected to the usual phone line 'through' the computer. So I could dial numbers and answer calls with my pc

    Tassie, do you use this?

How does the sound quality compare with the phoneline?

I use MSN Messenger with a mic and that works pretty well but it does sometimes get 'choppy' and other times just cuts off completely. Although the audio is better. I have a 512kbs connection (2mb soon, c'mon bt!) but when using a webcam aswell it 'chops' all over the place. I would not even consider paying for Skype if it was like this.

What is it like PC to landline?
If it was reliable PC>PC, PC>PHONE, PC>MOBILE (That's something I didn't check what they charge for mobile calls!) I would consider using it and getting rid of my landline and provider, only problem being is this; I'm with BT, who also supply my internet connection. It all nice and convenient. Phonecalls are on the whole reliable, my computer and internet connection are not.

One thing that was said on that page was something like 'In a perfect world everyone would have Skype and be talking for free'. Well I supose they would but almost everyone I know has a computer and most have the internet in their homes and the ability to talk to each other in the same way as Skype but don't. I've been trying to get people to do this for ages. It comes over as a novelty, a toy. An unreliable toy at that. Although with the internet evolving faster and larger by the day this will be the way we communicate in the future (..and not as distant as I always expect these things to take! )

Do you get a USB Phone with it? I'm not sure mic and earphones are to everones taste.

Having to have your PC on all the time or having to boot the PC everytime you want to make a call is a downfall, but I suppose most people now just just leave there computers on full time.

Isn't there a way that I can use my existing phoneline but use my computer as the receiver or phone headset? I could use my existing phone plugged through the computer to do the talking, like in the repeat dialer software above, but use the PC to control what calls are made, display caller ids etc. repeat dial a busy number etc, etc. In fact I know it must be possible but have no idea how to do it myself.(Any programmers reading this?) I've searched high and low for software of this type and amazed that this idea may not have been done yet.

Thanks for reading Any ideas, thoughts?
