Hello,

I have just noticed a program called asdsairacy that has appeared on my computer. It is saved under C: and is an application. The size is 405 bytes and the size on disk is 4KB. I have no idea what this is, and google can't find any sites mentioning this. It is an exe file, and I can't delete it as it says it is in use, even with no other programs open. I have scanned the file individually and done a full system scan with norton, and no viruses has come up.

Does anyone know what this is, if it is bad news and how to get rid of it? Any advice would be most appreciated!!

I would agree - sounds very much like a spyware/malware issue. With these things, you generally can't delete the problem files easily because the process that uses them is loaded as soon as Windows starts up so the files are always in use. Starting Windows in Safe Mode often helps to remove the simpler ones though but running Owen's recommended utilities is the most thorough way to remove these problems
