    Excel color palette issues

    Hi,
I'm using Excel 2000 with Windows 2000 Prof. and having some issues with color palettes. I have a base workbook full of templates that I regularly copy out of to use in new workbooks. Recently I altered the colors in all of these sheets to include a new custom color (Tools>Options>Colors Tab>Modify) at several different locations. The issue comes when I attempt to copy one of these sheets to a new workbook, as soon as it moves to a new workbook the palette reverts to Excel's base palette and all the colors get screwed up. The only fix I can find is to re-modify the color or import the palette from the original workbook, but I have to do this each and every time I make a new book. Is there any way to modify the default palette for Excel to include my custom color? I copy sheets many times a day and I'd like to avoid another step in the process.

    Thanks for any help,
    Sam

could you set up a macro to do it for you

yes, but I'm looking for a more long-term option. This doesn't save me any time unless you can have a macro automatically trigger on the creation of a new book (is this possible? I'm not sure what event handlers look like in excel macros). Otherwise I can still just import the palette from the previous document with the same amount of work.
