My Hard Drive is primary master, my DVD burner is Secondary Master, and my CD rom is slave to my DVD burner. I bought my DVD burner in September has worked since, this problem has started a week ago. Tried different media, didnt work. Any suggestions?
-
have you installed any thing lately that could cause a conflict with your burner
-
nope, havent installed anything of that sort. I guess I could test it on another PC, just thought someone has anything else I could try or has seen thgis problem before.
-
i have had a look on one or two different help forums and the only thing close to your problem was caused after installing sp2 so there for
have you installed sp2?
have you tried updating your drivers?
-
I have not installed SP2, I updated the firmware, that didnt work either. Can I switch the IDE cable that my hard drive is using with the one my DVD burner is using?
-
you could try it while you have the side of your case if you can try your burner on another machine it might be worth a try at least you will know if it is the machine or software
-
I switched the IDE cable with one I had lying around and for the first time I got more than 1% progress, it went to 13%, I then switched the IDE cable that my hard drive was using and it errored out at 1% progress again.
-
when it went to 13% did you stop it your self or did it stop its self
-
stops itself,s pits out the DVD and says error
-
any perticular type of error or just a big fat error?
