Oh I am in a mess....my son had me checking his email and I decided to empty his deleted items folder...well he also had a keep folder in there and you guessed it...it is now gone. Is there any way that I can get these emails back??? Please help I have been searching the net for 3 hours and cannot find a way to do it. Thanks

Oh sorry ...yes this is in Outlook Express and he runs Windows 98. I am running one recover thing from the 1st link in the message with 2 links and am analayzing the system now??? Boy I hope I don't crash his whole computer....I am such a dummy. Thanks for the help I will let you know if I get the folder and files back

by the way have you checked to see if its in his recycle bin if so double click it then chose restore

Yes I have tried most of the links and have downloaded about 15 programs and still no files that I lost .....perhaps I have overwritten them by now.....oh well I guess I will have to face the musice when my son calls....but I think he should take some of the blame...who has a keep file in the deleted items folder! Thanks for your help

one last chance you might have if you know thw name of the folder is to look through your complete hard drive using the search program

goto start and click it will be there on the start menu i really hope this helps if ican think of any thing else i will contact you

I really appreciate it, I did not find the files but probably because I downloaded some of the recovery programs into the same drive that the deleted file was and there is no way that I can find it now. I tried the search but nothing turned up and I just finally got a hold of my son and he laughed his head off.....here I was sick all day and he intentionally deleted that folder and meant for it to be deleted! I told him I will not empty that folder again (he works up near Alaska in the bush on shift work ) when I delete email for him. Again Thank you for your help.
