As many of you will have noticed we have recently upgraded the forum software and implemented a new design. We are still making changes and ironing things out but please do make comments here in this thread with any feedback you have or requests.

David, posted this in your blog on the same subject but thought I should add it here as well.

I like the new look for D-A-L, but (there is always a but). Still no link at the bottom of posts to take you back to the Forum you are reading. Still have to go to the top then click on the Forum name to get back. Not a big deal for sure, but this is one of the few places I've seen where this is the case.

I also find it difficult to tell the difference between Hot thread with unread posts and Hot thread with no unread posts. The icons are small and very similar.

I'll look into making Hot threads stand out, in the meantime I have added links to the bottom of each thread so it is easier to navigate back again

The overall look is much better than before.

What about making the topic BOLD is it is a Hot thread with unread posts?

Also, once I've looked at the thread, there is no indication I've done so. The icon has not changed as far as I can see, it still shows exactly the same as before so I have no way of knowing what I have or have not looked at. BOLD and not BOLD could help with this as well.

For me the icons are grey when I have read all the threads and then when a new thread gets started the icon goes to colour....

Yes, that's the one. They did not change from Orange to Grey after I had looked at a thread as I expected.

I use SeaMonkey as my browser. Currently at 2.0.8 version. Just tried it with IE8 under Win 7 and it doesn't change color there either.

To test, I looked at the Chat Room which showed this thread as Hot thread with unread posts, also has the green arrow indicating I've posted in it. I then opened the thread, went to the bottom to see your last post, then clicked on Chat Room link at the bottom of the thread. Icon is still the same, does not turn to Grey. Same for SeaMonkey or IE8.

Anything I can do to help figure it out?

This is what Chat room looks like to me. Almost everything is pink indicating Hot thread with new posts. If you look at the dates show for created and latest post, none of them that I can see should be flagged this way.
