Have I got two ghosts?

Question Have I got two ghosts?

I am joking, but an interesting result when I ran the D-A-L Hardware Scan for which I thank Management....great tool.

However, it tells me I have AVG 7.5.5.519 installed along with Cyber Defender in Security Software. I put in a search for both Files in (C) drive, negative results, looked in Program Files, negative too, opened Revo Uninstaller, same result, so can one of the volunteers tell me why they would show in Security Software within the Hardware Scan please.

Years ago I guess I did have both these programs, so is it an old registry entry only that is raring it's ugly side?

    Thank you, with kind regards,

    Hi tallin,

This is a downside to the scan. It is a really useful tool for an overview but it is by no means perfect. I would say that this is an old registry entry of some kind which is being detected but I will check this with my developer and see what he thinks.

Thank you for the interest, would be good to know the end result.

I would guess it is an old registry entry in there somewhere...

    best regards,

I had a similar issue with Comodo Firewall which I had removed.

After a long investigation finally found a Comodo uninstaller which removed all registry entries and resolved the issue.

    Thanks Jephree,

I looked at the AVG uninstaller, but sadly it would take my AVGRoot kit with it, so declined to run it.

Re CyberDefender uninstaller, it has the word 'registry cleaner' in it, so it lost me immediately.

I can live with those few .reg entries as my system is performing so well.

    kind regards,
