Still using a couple 56k modems at work (for some messaging) and some of our users, with Laptops, still use the internal modems to connect to work from their cabins as no DSL\Broadband.

56k modem... Oh how I miss those machine sounds. Not the connection speed though, pffh it made surfing the web a workout.

They seemed to have left out the Sinclair 64 PC thing that my son had and I had to read out the programs to him so he oculd load it onto a cassett tape then plug the tape into the pc and the game would play(sometimes)

My how technology has changed.

In the 40's & 50's I lved in the country we had paraffin lamps and candle's for lighting, a earth closet for a toilet, a radio that was run on a acculimator which we took to the local garage to be recharged every weeek, coal & wood fires fires and a bath in front of the kitchen range on Sunday evening. Oh those were the days.
