Old Ram - no, not a sheep joke.

Back at the job and my first assignment is to clean up some of the accumulated rubbish, including ram chips that are years old.
    32mb, 64, 128. Lots of 256 as well.
Is any of this stuff saleable? The boss was considering writing it off and giving it to the scouts but if there is the possibility of a sale I think he'd change his mind.

I doubt that anything under 256MB has any usable value except in obsolete machines.

The pin base is also an issue. Current RAM is 244 pin DDR2 whereas you will probably find yours is 184 pin DDR or SDR.

Not to mention probably very slow speeds.

    Let the scouts have it!

Thanks for the advice. I did a quick scan on the internet today of companies that sell recycled computers and old ram but what I found wasn't encouraging.

There is one piece of Apple ram that might be worth offering to a museum. Future generations will shake their heads in disbelief at an 8mb memory chip!
