Keyboard Rant!

Keyboard Rant!
Not too long ago I coughed up about eighty dollars for a Logitech EX110 wireless keyboard. It was just about the most irritating piece of goods I've ever owned.
First there was the scroll wheel. The name scroll wheel is kind of a clue, wouldn't you think, as to its primary function? The programmers at Logitech apparently think otherwise, or perhaps they're not very good at their job, because this
keyboard would reset itself to zoom whenever the fancy took it. Maybe it was influenced by the tides, or the alignment of the planets. But it certainly wasn't me resetting it.
So that was a pain in the rear, and that was bad enough. But then there was Musicmatch.
Musicmatch appears, and I say appears, to be an optional extra when you install the software from the disk. But hey, guess what! If you don't install Musicmatch, your multimedia keys don't work! I realised this when the volume keys refused to operate while I was playing music. Went back, loaded up Muggersnatch, and what do you know...!
So there it is. You want full function on the keyboard, you install the program. Doesn't matter whether you need it - much less want it.
This is a cheap shoddy trick. There might be a workaround, but why should that be necessary? I bought the keyboard not the ******* music player!
The Logitech has gone into the cupboard and won't be coming out except for emergencies. I've replaced it with a Labtec wireless, I found it on the net for about half price - 2004 model, so someone had a load of obsolete stock somewhere. I set it up about an hour ago and it's clearly a superior product. No cute stuff with the multimedia keys, and it also feels firmer under the fingertips. And the scroll wheel rolls smoothly, whereas the Lunkydog felt like it was running on a ratchet wheel. If you need a keyboard I recommend this one!

PS: The Logitech was a hassle right to the end, no Uninstall feature. Likewise with Musicmatch.
(As it happens, this is the second version of this post. I got so worked up during the first that I decided to wipe Musicmatch then and there.
program restarted my machine and wiped everything out! One more good reason to hate it! Like I needed one!)
