    Re: Einstein Riddle

Actually you have to do it properly and show the whole working out. We had it as part of an entrance exam back in the day!

Took me 30-40 minutes max the first time I believe, in the exam way before the net was out and we had no local library where I was staying.

Yeah i had a similar problem to that as coursework in university, it was

    There are five houses.
The Englishman lives in the red house.
    The Spaniard owns the dog.
Coffee is drunk in the green house.
    The Ukrainian drinks tea.
The green house is immediately to the right of the ivory house.
The Old Gold smoker owns snails.
Kools are smoked in the yellow house.
Milk is drunk in the middle house.
The Norwegian lives in the first house.
The man who smokes Chesterfields lives in the house next to the man with the fox.
Kools are smoked in the house next to the house where the horse is kept.
The Lucky Strike smoker drinks orange juice.
    The Japanese smokes Parliaments.
The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.

Now, who drinks water? Who owns the zebra?

    Ha

You didn't even give us enough time to Google it.

I'm not saying that's what Tassie Devil did.

Anybody have a real good riddle that's not on the first page of Google.

Try this one - Don't cheat! Because if you did, the test would be no fun.I promise, there are no tricks to the test.

Read the sentence below and count the F's in that sentence.Count them ONLY ONCE. Do not go back and count them again.

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS.

    How many did you find?

I don't think this one is on the Internet, you're looking for a animal.

My first is in bridge but not in ridge.

My second is in awake and in mistake.

My third is in danger but not in ranger.

My fourth is in flange and in orange.

My fifth is spline and in wine.

My last is river and in diver.

    My whole likes the darkness.

    What am I?

DJDK; Your right their are 6 F's, I would of answered last night only Shaw is doing more upgrades in our area, so I could say good-bye to my cable modem untill they finished and when your used to cable dial up is not a option.

I have to say, I failed the test just like brain_damage, he picked 3 and I picked 4, here's the reason why we only see 3 or 4, F's.

Many people forget the "OF"'s. The human brain tends to see them as V's and not F's.

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS.

When I read the sentence I knew how many F's were in yet reading it once, I only picked out 4, Pretty weird, huh?

    Try these:

I'm the part of the bird that's not in the sky. I can swim in the ocean and yet remain dry. What am I?

I am mother and father, but never birth or nurse. I'm rarely still, but I never wander. What am I?

I went into the woods and got it. I sat down to seek it. I brought it home with me because I couldn't find it. What is it?

I am weightless, but you can see me. Put me in a bucket, and I'll make it lighter. What am I?

I never was, am always to be, No one ever saw me, nor ever will, And yet I am the confidence of all To live and breathe on this terrestrial ball. What am I?

I'm light as a feather, yet the strongest man can't hold me for much more than a minute. What am I

Pronounced as one letter, And written with three,Two letters there are,And two only in me.I'm double, I'm single,I'm black, blue, and gray,I'm read from both ends, And the same either way. What am I?

I'm where yesterday follows today, and tomorrow's in the middle. What am I?

See how you do with these..
