just check your windows files but if there were no errors then the problem is not anything to do with windows files.
is your USB enabled in the bios?
is your camera plugged into the front or back?
OK,dont laugh,what it bios?!And I tried front and back,with same results.Also why is it saying,per original post,"doesn't support MSDOS/Windows applictions" or something to that effect?Could that be a prob.?
[QUOTE=Kazna3;125664]Thats good.
I'm not clear where you're getting this error but if its that, then the USB device is not compatible with Windows.[/QUOT

what did you do before you started to recieve this error (installed something? changed a setting?....)
Whens the last time you ran a Windows Update?
You need the drivers for the hardware and they are preinstalled with XP for your particular model.
Go here, and download them: http://www.fujifilmusa.com/JSP/fuji/...cucatid=664260
Connect the camera and lets see if it picks up at all. Do you have a spare USB cable to check with (as the one you have maybe faulty)?
Anyway, if after installing drivers and connecting the system still doesn't pick up do this:
*Go to Accessories in the start menu, then Admin Tools>Computer management
*Next expand System Tools on the left and click Device Manager.
*Then right-click the top most device listed on the right and choose "scan for hardware changes".
Let us know exactly whats is picked up then.
when you plug a camera into the computer via usb, it usualy comes up as removable storage device and the found new hardware wizzard pops up...Whens the last time you ran a Windows Update?
