    Slow?

Is anyone else finding this site really, really slow this evening? Other sites are ok for me.

I just came across this on another forum.

Been driving me mad all day, it seems LOTS of sites are using google-analytics.com and their severs seems to be playing up if you are coming from the UK. rest of world seems OK. Some sites add the following to the top of there site code to deal with site visitors reports. http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js. If you look in your browser (firefox 1.5) you will see it sometimes in the bottom left when you are go to a site using it.

Reading newgroups today loads of other sites have had the problem. Site admins have resorted to a) removing this from there site until google sort out the issue b) add the request at the bottom of the site so at least the website loads.

Personally I find this shocking that a LOT of internet sites "seem" down becuase of a server at google being down. Means total waste if you have gone out and bought all this clustered hardware for your own site! :-) I have read of ecom sites losing loads of money in the last few days becuase of this problem :-(

Just thought would pass this on.
Could that be why this site is slow sometimes?

Nice find.... Yes we do use it so maybe that's the problem. I would think Google will get around that pretty quickly though. I'll keep and eye on it and remove the code if it persists.
