lol, when gmail was launched and they baught gbrowser domain names all indications pointed to them preparing to launch their own OS.

They have recently employed the creator of Python programing language, so i believe this OS will have a strong Python oriantation to this OS.......

mind you this is all a rumour at the moment.

I am waiting for Larry page's keynote speach this Friday.

Google has had Microsoft's Windows team shaking in their boots for a few years now. When they do decide to release an OS (and possibly entire platform), there's no doubt it's going to be a Titan that'll hit the market with all guns drawn.

Can't wait until we get something solid.

It would take years to build something on a level to Windows and even once they had you then have the huge task of convincing consumers to start using it over Windows which as we all know is by far the industry standard OS.

I would think they will stick to smaller scale systems for handheld units/mobile phones but then who knows, this is all hype right now.....

Thats why there needs to be a change, Google is in the public eye. They can push their OS easilly. Think of Hotmail, dominant in the e-mail market and Gmail/googlemail has grown evermore popular. Firefox has stromed the market. IE is still the more dominant as it had been shipped with Windows.

but they should have an impressive list of release software for free, and it wont be long before publishers port their products.
