OK after the post by Claire I thought I would post some history about D-A-L. Right listen up...I will be asking question afterwards!

1> D-A-L was named simply after my initials and was started as a bit of a hobby site.

2> D-A-L was first online on the evening of 29th Ocotber 2003 when I was the sole member! The design was quite black!! http://www.d-a-l.com/forum/index.php

3> That evening a mate joined up "NumberOneTechie" and we waited patiently for our first new member. Sad i know....

4> By the 30th we had 11 members which wasn't bad going for a site up just two days. I should add though that I did spend some advertising money and also posted at other forums telling people. Also on 30th October 2003 HappyBeaver joined who is still to this day a Mod (Hi Karen!! nice to see you once a year!!! lol )

5> Exactly a month after launch at the end of November 2003 we had clocked up over 200 registered members. At this point I made myself a goal of someday reaching the 10,000 member mark.

6> 3rd January 2004, our long standing Mod Tess arrived! AKA TassieDevil The forum was ticking over nicely through New Year into 2004 and by the end of April 2004 we had a huge 2200 registered members. At this point I was finally able to not have to answer questions every day as we had enough mods for us all to help out.

7> It was time for a change and I decided to bring in new software so we migrated to vBulletin and started with 0 members again!!!

8> 2004 passed over very quickly and by Christmas (yes I know I've jumped a bit) the site had literally exploded. Finally I was able to start getting some revenue from the site to cover the huge amounts of investment. D-A-L was setup from the start as a hobby and a bit of fun but over the two years I have spent literally weeks of work on the site and thousands on investment from hosting to marketing to programmers. Finally last year it was very nice to see us pulling in around 5000 visitors a day and able to get some financial reward to back the site up.

9> Into 2005 and we have established one hell of a fantsatic team here. Not just the Moderators but also the regulars we see here day in day out. Its great to see the same names posting and my goal for 2006 is to make D-A-L much more of a community site with more social aspects to it.

10> So here we are? starting from 0 members in Ocotber 2003 to 2200 in April 2004 back to 0 and then to now.... and we have massed just over 9100 members, thats amazing and it will be fantatsic to see us hit the 10,000 member mark in the new year.

So theres a brief history, I know its not much but it kinda shows where we came from Feel free to ask any questions.
