Xbox 360
hi i tryed to preorder a new xbox 360 and found that they are no longer acepting preorders becouse they were only getting 20 xbox 360s but they said i could preorder the core system whithout a hard drive so i cant play the old xbox games or save my games they said i could save my games etc if i brought a hard drive to go with it but that works out £100 more than getting the full system.
i think microsoft have delibertly made less full systems so people who need a xbox 360 for christmas would have to buy the core system and the harddrive wich i think is unfair becouse they know lots of pple will pay watever the price to get 1 so their ripping pple off
i was wondering wat evry 1 thinks and if any 1 knows were i could get one 4 christmas?

microsoft will be making more base packages rather than full packages as most people will have a base system then buy a hardrive at another time.
As for you ordering your Xbox 360, its probably your local shop not being able to get the supply if xbox's they need for the pre-orders. You could try pre-orfering from another shop or website, or even go down your local town and buy it on the relese date.

as for backwards compatability, i thaught this was on all versions of the 360 due to the fact it will only need to read the disk, and does not need to store any files for it.
i might wait for ninteno revolution.... i dont know why, but i like the fact it will have all the nintendo games ever free for download except for the most recent ones.

I'm not really thinking about getting one of these consoles. I don't have any consoles at the moment, I use my PC. I'd be inclined to upgrade my PC rather than get a console, because its of more use to me. Obviously my PC is nothing compared to these next generation consoles, but it suits me lol. If I bought a games console now choosing from the Xbox, PS2 and Gamecube, I'd pick Gamecube because you can get them so cheaply. You can get them second hand for £40, if not less. And a massive selection of games are available, quite a few of the ones that appear on PS2 and Gamecube. If I did get a new gen console, I'd choose not the best looking or the most advanced console, I'd choose the one with the most games that I like.
Recently I was choosing between a PSP and Nintendo DS and I chose PSP because it has loads of games that appeal to me. The DS doesn't. My PSP should be coming in a couple of weeks.

this doesnt really matter to your question but i was wondering if the normal xbox hdd can be transfered over to the 360.. any clues?
-
the normal xbox does not have a removable HDD that i am aware of. the 360 hdd slots in the side (from looking at pics) so i dont think it would be possible.
RE: owen
no new consoles. you have ordered a PSP, it is a games console, you have controdicted yourself.

u need the hdd to play the old games and u need the hdd to save ur game !!!

thats weired if it needs the hdd to play the old games. its using a smaller laser to read the disk therefore technically it wont need the hdd, but if microsoft are after extra dosh their afer extra dosh.
