Well suffice to say my lights will be off, I'm just skeptical lol.
Wait, does anyone here by any chance have read any research done on the effects of Earth Hour?

I think the only affects are awareness. Basically just a symbolic gesture. But so are most "ceremonies" etc.
There might be real affects if it were done everyday everywhere.
Or again just awareness like ban incandescent light bulbs etc.
reddit comments (of course expect total foolishness):
They suggest opening your freezer for an hour to cool the globe.
For most of you, burning candles for Earth Hour will emit more carbon than a single lamp with a compact-fluorescent bulb. : reddit.com
I make sure our lighs are turned off anyway if no one is in the room...
Earth Hour in Sydney eh, how ironic. That's just like saying to a guy in New York to turn HIS lights off... since everyone else refuses to let the Big apple sleep
Hahah. I would like to response to the reddit comment in a non-logical way as well.
"I wouldn't mind a little bit of global warming, I'm in Minnesota"
Very interesting I never realised that the rubber at the end of a pencil had been invented, just thought it had evolved.
As far as the issue of global warming my opinion for what it is worth, is that man has not started it with pollution but rather exacerbated the natural weather oscillation between hot climate and cold climate with our pollution of the atmosphere. I think if I rember from my school days the last ice age ended 10,000 years ago so we must be heading for another one.. But I dont care because my part of the UK did not, the other side of the Thames that is another story you lot in Birmingham will be under about 15 ft of snow and ice 24/7 Brrrr Brrrr in about 200 years time.
