Thumbs down For BT Broadband users......

For all you UK BT Broadband users....

Who else had the email etc saying BT would double your speed for no extra cost only to find it still hasn't happened and whats more your line may not actualy support it anyway....? It may be a one off but I'm trying to go from 1Mb to 2Mb and it look slike they are going to tell me my line doesn't support it....

It is not only BT users that want faster speeds, when i first decided to move to BB one provider said i could get 2Mb (that was Bulldog) but everyone else said i could only get 512k so you can guess which one i tried to sign up to only to be asked for my BT phone account number then to be told it was incorrect so i ended up with WANADOO Now i cannot wait until May to change. One thing i hate reading about is higher speeds but how far from the exchange do you have to live (next door), BT are not renewing the lines from the exchange to the properties so how can they tell you one month you cannot get 2Mb then next month you can

I'm with blueyonder and started out at 512 them upgraded to 750 now its 1mb.........personally I would have stuck with 512 and had a price reduction
BT had no date to upgrade the exchange altho' a lot of people wanted it.after alot of customers left and went with cable they've upgraded to 512........to late as I changed phones aswell...............I'm happy with blueyonder............so far...

Im on the same packages as Jeff along with the TV.

No problems with Blueyonder at all, apart from some dodgy tech advice once.

We even have a juncion box next to house so get really good, stable connections all the time. In fact think this is day 5 or 6 without a reboot or lost conection.

Yeh well I get probably 7 days without loss of connection usually on BT, but then you kind of expect that from the company which owns most of the countries telecoms infrastructure.

WHY THE HELL is this country so far behind the rest of the world when it comes to such a simple things as transferring data at what is actually a very slow speed across our telephone system. The rest of the world sit and laugh at us as they take for granted home speeds in excess of 10mb...and BT struggle to give me 2Mb!!! it's 2005!!!

Our telecoms system is about as useless as our motorway system, healthcare...ok I won't even go there.
