    Shift+4

Hey, ignorant American here. I was wondering what character everybody’s keyboard types when you type Shift+4? Is it different over seas?

    Mine is the $.

Is anything different on the top row?

That's pretty cool... With the influx of Spanish into the Southwest US I kind of wish my keyboard had the accented vowels, too.

    Side note/rant:
Why would anyone go through the trouble of creating a symbol to abbreviate the word 'at' to @? Seriously, you still have to hit two keys to type it, it only saves one letter, and in print it’s actually physically bigger than the word at. Why not create some big ass symbols for 'it', 'do', 'am', 'me' and 'my'.

I pick my battles where and when I wish.
