No problems. Before I left Dell Tech Supp I was an L2 (for the uninitiated thats a Senior Tech, Second Level Tech, Escalation Tech...Jr Supervisor etc.) I was given all the tough people and problems. I guess thats why I burned out!

really?? wow... anyway, right now im still in transition... wow... i should really ask for your advice... just like my L2 here. i thought being an L2 isn't that hard? =D

Where are you located? I worked in Braker H first in Austin. Then RR2. When I left TS I moved to Breaker F, then E, then Br2, then we moved to our near final location, PS1.
When I was there(95-96) being an L2 looked easy, but we were so buried in calls that we didnt know what the L2 was doing. Neal Amador was one of my training buddies (Same Training class as me) My last L2 was Kelly Wilks. Her husband still works ESG, atleast the last time I was able to look at the directory!) I know things have changed. Lee Zimmerman is now IPS but had moved to L2 about a month after I left. Too many changes. And yet, it all seemed to stay the same.

I would be happy to help with whatever I can. I am primarily a Hardware person...Love it to death. Software I am alittle less confident. I can manage the OS reasonably, but APPS, forget it. Adware/SPyware, Owen, HJM, Spud et al, I am learning from. I suggest you do as well. Since alot of customer calls will be just about that, how an App failed or why the OS doesnt want to work.

yah right, i even memorized the troubleshooting step on blue screen error unmountable boot volume errors... ahehehee

Sad to say, but true. Most of you people don't know what you're talking about. I started out on the phone at Dell in 1996. Did my time. and worked my way over to on-line. Great gig. I did a great job. Worked hard. Bought a house. Started a family. Bought new cars. Ect... Never-the-less, was laid off in 2001, along with about 1700 other's, by no fault of our own. They called me on my day off, while I was at home, taking care of my son, and let me go. So, there's nothing you can tell me about how wonderful Dell is.

You got caught up like my friend in the first round. Those were all political. I lost a lot of friends that day. Those that stayed were herded into one room, those that were let go a different room. I managed to miss that round, and the next two before I decided to leave while I was still liked. I am still bitter over those RIFs (werent actual Lay-offs legally...thats the worst part!) I never said Dell was a perfect company, where I worked it was good to me and I made my self almost invaluble (only one who knew the old systems, DPS, EMPACT, WTCS) Where did you finally land?
