i friend of mine is getting a new pc and asked me for help , when he asked me which is better intel pentium or amd athlon? i personaly think intel pentium , but just wondering , what do you all think and why? . . . .

pentiums are good but more exspensive how much does your mate want to shell out on one

Because the big PC makers like Compaq, Dell, HP, etc all use Pentium processors, it has become belief that Pentium are the best and it often seems like a Monopoly. If I mention AMD to someone, I get "EHHH?, Whats that? Pentiums are better!".

AMD are usually cheaper and just as good, if not better. Theres debate about everything and in the end it comes down to personal preference. Or in some cases, the boasting "I've got a Pentium 4".

heheh how old are you guys like? dont you have to be 18+ to be on this forum:S personaly i think pentium , i used to have a amd athlon and it was very bad!!! it was terribly slow and caused problems for most other things! i now got a pentium 4 3.2ghz and its sweet
