    Unhappy Lost Password EeePC H101-Something

I just purchased an eeepc in India, without windows -- which means it has some linux distribution. I set a password -- had to type it in twice -- but now that computer does not let me in with that password. It is possible that I hit the shift key wrong both times; but I have tried all combinations of that which I can think of. This is the short story; but there is nothing in the long story that I think would be helpful.
So now I cannot get past the startup at all. The only thing I can do, other than to turn it on and to receive the prompt for a password, is to go into bios.
    Please help!
    Janelle

if you have access to another computer you can make a live usb stick with any linux distribution. then go to bios in your computer, with the live usb stick on one of the ports. change the boot prioroty: make it so the first priority is from your live stick. reboot with linux.

under file system in linux you can access all info on your computer. save that info on an external hard srive. then reinsftall the os of your choice on the hard drive.

this works for any computer -- even one with windows os.
