You won't Lose Ubuntu on your C drive. But when you install XP after Linux. Windows will overwrite Grub Bootloader which you are using to boot Ubuntu and install a Windows Bootloader to your Master Boot Record. Windows is like that.
So after you install XP. You will just boot into Windows. Windows does not allow any other Operating systems in it's bootloader. Without some really fancy fiddiling with it.
After You install Windows XP. There is a easy way to restore Grub Bootloader. Grub allows Windows to be included in the boot menu.

If you have any Data on D drive. Installing XP to that drive will wipe all data off of D drive. So if you have anything stored on D Drive. etter save it via USB Flash or USB EXternal. Or Move that data over to C drive in Ubuntu.d: is in ntfs format..
