Decided to give DSL 4.0 Live CD a test drive on Amrel RT 686. Connected to this site using Dillo web browser and tried login in and after I hit login I would get the thank you screen with my user name and the next page would be "Hey you're not logged in". Not a question about why that happened. Just an observation. Then logged into this site with older Firefox browser that comes with DSL Live 4.0 and was able to login. This O/S runs pretty quick off the CD on a laptop running 500mhz,128 mb RAM. Pretty impressive for a 50mb qperating system to start with. DSL is a slackware based small minimal O'S that will run live so you don;t have to install on hardrive if you don't want to. It also will setup like Ubuntu by installing debian package files and installing synaptic package manager. You can configure this O/S to run light or heavy depending on your expertise and knowledge. I think this is a nice way to get an older computer up and running and if I get brave enough to install it on the harddrive I bet it would be faster than Windows on the laptop. Just my opinion though. Sure fun experimenting.
