do you mind if I ask you a question, regarding the instalation of Ubuntu system. I have winxp home on a 200 gig HD, and I just partitioned it to allow 50 gig for Ubuntu. Now Ubuntu downloaded great and it is on a cd now. If I boot up using the cd as my first boot, will the ubuntu install that system straight onto my C:\ drive. Or will it give me the opportunity to install it on the 50 gig partition. You see this is my first attempt at using a Linux system and I do not want to bugger up my windows system on my Primary drive. I hope I have not gone on too lon about this.

try using wubi, wubi is an unoffical ubuntu installer that installs ubuntu inside of the windows operating systen
