Use Mac To Connect To Landline?
Hi,
I have a mac mini connected wirelessly to a broadband router. I'd like to be able to use the mini to make phone calls over my regular home (BT/TalkTalk) landline - NOT VOIP. Basically, I don't want to have to get up and get the phone whenever I want to make a call, and there are no phone plugs in my room. Does anybody know how I could go about this?
Many thanks.

The simpliest solution for this would be to get a BT freelance XA 3000 phone or similar. You get two phones - one connected to the main phone socket and another (used wirelessly) for any room in the house. It doesn't use VOIP but your normal phone line. Alternatively, if you want to make calls via your Mac open a SKYPE account. It's FREE and very simple to use. Simply go to www.skype.com to view the details. Hope this helps.
